♥ high bus fares
i've been receiving msges and emails regarding the high bus fare petition. after reading the petition, i decided not to "vote" for it..

It is obviously unfair that SMRT and SBS charge polytechnic students adult fares while JC students only pay 45cents per trip. Are we not of the same age as JC students? Do we NOT travel as much as JC students do? Are our families any better off than theirs? The general answer is NO, Polytechnic students are in fact just average students. Yes, there are elder students who are already working and capable of supporting themselves, but they still hold a very much smaller percentage as compared to the young students fresh from secondary school. I do believe SMRT and SBS are smart enough to not make decisions based on stereotyping thinking, and i certainly do believe that they are capable of being fair and unbiased, so i take it this fare difference was due to negligence in decision discussion and making. A higher fare would very directly affect the students' moods about school, discouraging students from poorer families to continue with their studies. This could impact the Singaporean economy as the majority of people studying go to polytechnics after their O levels, and a high fare would discourage workers from coming back to polytechnics to upgrade themselves.

come on la, i totally agree that Polytechnic students shouldn't pay adult fare for transport and JC students get to pay 45 cents only. but i feel that the support abv isn't strong enough for me to support! JC are schools under MOE, Polytechnics are not. It is quite clear that only students from MOE gets the privilege because it's the Ministry. Poly students don't have to wear uniforms, lecturers don't take attendance, flexible school hours and much more yummy food in Poly! JCs can never afford to enjoy life like Poly. Unless Polytechnic students dun mind wearing school u and getting back into the "secondary school" mode - yes, including the adults who does part-time study. (WTH WANTS TO WEAR!)
paying 71 cents per short trip on the bus is really a chore, what more from Tampines to Dover = $1.69. even if i were to top up $10, it only can last for 3 days excluding bus trips! heart really ache at the amount spent. BUT at least SMRT and SBS introduced smth called the CONCESSION PASS which is a far more affordable price. both train and bus = $96 at most. i go to school for 21 days a month = $70 cash, but the train pass is only $45 and there's 4 free trips per day! bus trips are unlimited! how good can this be right! i'm not trying to promote concession pass now, but i believe that most students who live a distance from their Poly understand how important Concession Pass is. at least the government makes the effort to lighten the students load by introducing this. dun want to waste $$, choose a Poly near you. Want to go to good poly and a choice of your own, stop complaining about transport fees when u can afford to buy excessive things.
why not we just say, the standards of living is much higher these days. Just count your blessing, you'll soon be out of Polytechnics in the adulthood. By then, can consider doing a petition with the Poly Students paying adult fare yet having Concession Pass while adults dun have the same privilege.

i've got another math puzzle just for fun... i've solved the previous one alr (: hurray~ next one is tougher..
hahaha, i'm so determined to be that 2% of the world pop la. i think if anyone can solve this, their IQ must be >140 la!

i feel so mad! this is only the 2nd week of school but i've got a group presentation in week 4 for GEMS. and the puzzle goes like this:
In Wildwood grubs prison, there were four cells numbered 1 to 4 from left to right, with only one prisoner to a cell. The following facts had been recorded in the prison officer's logbook.
1. Cell 2 was occupied by either Angry Alan or Desperate Dave.
2. The burglar was next to the prisoner but not next to the strangler.
3. Neither Brutal Bill nor Desperate Dave was the knifeman.
4. Either the strangler or the knifeman was in cell 4.
5. Brutal Bill was next to Cruel Colin.
6. Desperate Dave was to the immediate left of the strangler.
Can you find the inmate (i.e the prisoner) and crime for each cell?

just watched epi 30 of "WGM"! i love AlShin's part; cos of the quadruplets mainly... gee, TGIF! tmr is friday, it's been a long week.. school for so many hours for the past 4 days, draining me physically and mentally (cos still cannot adjust to lectures). but i still got NYAA mtg tmr at 5:30!! class end at 12 tmr sia.. had CNC practical today, had hands-on on the machine - turning.. hahaha, pretty cool... oh well... (:

(: currently watching "Love Marriage".. still stuck at ep 2, cos the first part is really draggy...
class started at 10 this morning~ mechanics lecture for an hour before having lunch... den had thermo 2, this time i managed to rmb some stuffs which i learnt last yr (: steam table and stuffs.. then had CNC lecture which was boring ): really felt like sleeping but cannot slp cos lecturer will catch u! he did that to me last sem! den he asked me to explain smth, so i juz smoked thru w/out knowing what i was talking. i guessed he got kinda confused too. den had mechanics tutorial~ yes yes, i finally understand how to calculate moments and etc~ achievement sia. on my way home juz now, i saw valerie!! =D like 1 year didnt see her even though we juz live next block to each other!
and next monday is public holiday! make up class again? =/ i hope not...
last night did video! omg, only the 3 of us! super tiring... and i cant wait to watch "We Got Married"! i heard that Alex and Shin Ae left again... like sad la, the original 4 couples left with 1 pair - CrownJ & InYoung. Hyun Joong and Huang Bo isn't too bad, i guess if not for AlShin, Ant & Witch, lettuce couple, i won't be watching le... ): miss the original one lo..

it's been 3 days since class started! oh my, really tough to wake up on time at home and train... had mechanics 2 on the first day of school, the last time i touched mechanics was 14 months ago! forgot how to calculate moment and forces le. had thermofluids 2 on tues, lecturer did a short recap which was returned to my lecturer in yr 1 alr... had GEMS today! french~ wah, really good leh. learnt a lot of France itself.. which isn't taught on my normal wed class.. expected GEMS to be learning basic french again (for the third time in my life) but thankfully it's not. same t'cher as my norm wed class, i see him for 4 hours straight =/
got back french test paper.. !@#$#%#%$^ super badly done....
class at 8am tmr again! GEMS again, math & puzzles.. haiz...

♥ ocs gathering, china wine
just had phil OCS gathering this afternoon, though only 1/2 of the team turned up but it's a good day~ (: updates like spocs 2009, gems, timetable, holidays. LOL. our team was the smallest! 19 of us only - 5 girls, 14 guys. 2009's batch got 27! - 8 girls, 19 guys. some more their's really racial harmony sia. got s'porean, m'sian?, ind'sian, malay, indian, myanmar people, vegeterian... no pork, beef, chicken to eat cos need halal and phil seldom got halal food la. power sia. den talk about our kiasu-ism of signing up for GEMS as usual. and Sports Elective Programme, i wanna do tennis instead of swimming la.. anw, we had buffet at clementi - fortune restaurant. not too bad cos i just kept eating non stop (: $20 total! very cheap~!! including all the ++ la, $16.80++.. must take e pics from maggie~ (:

♥ WGM - we got married
LOL hooked up to this korean variety show - We Got Married (WGM)! it is still on-going and it's not gonna end that soon!
4 predetermined (as in participants don't choose who their partner is, but the pairings are set up by the PD) couples are allotted a certain amount of money ($20, $40, etc) to prepare dinner for themselves. The participants try to portray themselves as a real life couple and go out together to buy groceries for dinner. It then follows them to a mock home where they prepare the dinner and eat. In between scenes there are interviews with the participants asking questions like what they feel about their partner and what they like or don't like about him/her. The actual date together as a couple and the interviews are all prefilmed and the participants and MCs watch it all back. At the end, each side of the couple privately chooses if he/she would stay together with his/her partner or not.
juz finished watching episode 10 where the arrival of 2 new couples juz settled in. my fav couple is not andy's or alex's or crownj's! LOL, mine is Don Don! LOL.. just watching episode 7 made me laughed so much la. he literally copied alex by using polaroid camera, and their first shot was so LOL, pengz la! but other shots were nice la, though that whole episode is really copy and paste from the other couples.. it's a pity that alex also left after episode 8 cos of other commitments): oh manz.. there's still another 18 episodes more to chiong =X ahhaha, gonna get more ppl to watch this variety show. the 2 new couples are dunno what's their name.. it's a jie-di r/s and the host of the show just got married too! LOL! go youtube watch~
man, school's reopening next monday le... managed to sign up for math & puzzle + french~ whee! hahaha! i realised my french gems t'cher is the same as my wed french, hahaha, i shall own the class with my tre bian francais! xD hahhahha! can bang against the wall liao..

♥ funny letter
was blog-hopping when i saw this post...
How would you react when you receive such a letter?
A father was surprised to see a neat and tidy bed as he passes his daughter’s room. Why?? Cause his pampered daughter never tidy her bedroom or iron her own clothes in her life.
Right on the pillow lies a pink envelope. With the worst premonition, he opened the envelope and read the letter with trembling hands:-
Dear Dad,
It is with great regret and sorrow that I'm writing you, but I'm leaving home.
I had eloped with my Lesbian friend Lucy because I wanted to avoid a scene with Mom and you. I've been finding real passion with Lucy and she is so nice to me. I know when you meet her you'll like her too -even with all her piercing, tattoos, and motorcycle clothes. But it's not only the passion Dad, I'm pregnant (carrying my ex boyfriend’s child) and Lucy said that she wants me to have the kid and that we can be very happy together. Even though Lucy is much older than me (42 is not very old anyway), and has no money, really these things shouldn't stand in the way of our relationship, don't you agree? You always say as long as we hav the determination nothing matters… Right
Lucy has a great CD collection; she already owns a trailer in the woods and has a stack of firewood for the whole winter. It's true she has other girlfriends as well but I know she'll be faithful to me in her own way. She wants to have many more children with me and that's now one of my dreams too. Lucy taught me that marijuana doesn't really hurt anyone and she'll be growing it for us and we'll trade it with our friends for all the cocaine and ecstasy we want. In the meantime, we'll pray that science will find a cure for AIDS so Lucy can get better; she sure deserves it!!
Don't worry Dad, I'm 15 years old now and I know how to take care of myself. Someday I'm sure we'll be back to visit so you can get to know your grandchildren.

♥ sick week
i can't wait for this holiday to end!! i wanna go to school!! =/ omg sounds so nerd. and i really really wanna drink and eat KFC, potato chips, coke, biscuits, seafood except fish porridge! ): can't wait for this sat cos there's gonna be an OCS gathering... whee~ :) hope i get well asap cos mood has been greatly affected. gems sign up is this wed~ i hate to sign up for it... and my timetable is out alr. thankfully class starts at 10am on mondays (: GPA 4.0 4.0 4.0!
p/s. went to tpy last thurs and i folded a record of at least 40 plastic bags in 2 hours!! i've learnt the art of folding pb the right way (:

quick update!
juz finished watching "On the First Beat" - HK drama which was broadcasted very very long ago on cable tv.
it's the sequel of "The Academy" and i really really like the shows (: 30 episodes luh, chiong and fell sick again. gee! the couples in the first show won't tgt in the 2nd show, which is a bit sad.. must sign up for GEMS next week~ thinking of doing math and puzzle + intro to french - that's if i need to get 2 gems luh..

juz finished watching "On the First Beat" - HK drama which was broadcasted very very long ago on cable tv.
it's the sequel of "The Academy" and i really really like the shows (: 30 episodes luh, chiong and fell sick again. gee! the couples in the first show won't tgt in the 2nd show, which is a bit sad..
